Clarke & Co. Hockey: Supported by FM Sudafix and Earthing Services
Ever since Earthing Services’ brand partner FM Sudafix began sponsoring the Nottingham Panthers IHC (http://www.panthers.co.uk/) the club’s “Best Brit” David Clarke has always been a great friend to the management team and staff of the companies. Panthers Captain and Team GB star forward David Clarke, often referred to as “Clarkey”, has scored more career goals than any other player in the history of the EIHL (http://www.eliteleague.co.uk/) and lifted seven championships between 2010-2013. He is the best ambassador the sport has, demonstrating competitiveness, fairness, and success, and after ten years with the Panthers the club honoured Clarkey with a testimonial match for the 2013-2014 season.
When Clarkey is not on the ice for the Panthers or representing his country for Team GB he helps develop new talent through his Clarke & Co. Hockey School (http://www.clarkeandcohockey.co.uk/). Earthing Services is one of a growing number of sponsors of this great initiative that sees Clarke and his impressive team of experienced coaches working with developing talent over three age brackets. Varied training methods are adopted from one on one tuition, group activities, hockey drills, and matches which all evidence applied theories from lectures on subjects ranging from preparation to personal conduct. It is unsurprising that these challenging and fun courses receive such impressive feedback from its attendees and also why many return year after year to further develop alongside true professionals like David Clarke.
Earthing Services Senior Technical Partner John Maher stated “I am proud to call Clarkey my friend. He is renowned for his exploits on the ice but he is just as impressive off the ice. He is the rare sort of person that is genuinely good for the world. He seems to work all of the time and yet still sacrifices his time to give youngsters opportunity to learn from the best as well as raising awareness about issues like blood donation on behalf of the NHS. Not only is he generous with his time but at a time when most successful sports people are looking to feather their nest when it comes to a testimonial Clarkey’s first item on the agenda was determining how best to use the event to help others and determine which worthy causes he would donate a proportion of the match earnings towards. The “5 for 10” events celebrating David Clarke’s glorious career will have a long legacy and I am proud to have been part of it and I hope that Earthing Services will continue to support all tiers of his hockey school because it really makes a difference to the sport.” David’s testimonial match was held on November 12 2013 and BBC coverage of the event can be found here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/ice-hockey/24940026
The exploits of David Clarke earn him a lot of press coverage and a “Human to Hero” feature on CNN conveyed not only his sporting achievements but his incredible humility and politeness and both the article and clip can be found here: http://edition.cnn.com/2013/02/13/sport/great-britain-ice-hockey-olympics-sport/
